2011 Show Day at fantastic success especially in the Sheep Section

We started the day with beautiful sunshine which stayed with us throughout the day. The Sheep section went really well with over 400 sheep on the show field, from shearing with the Young Farmers, and Ollie Cole's demonstrations, to the Jacobs in countryside tent. We broke our record with 20 different breeds of sheep being brought to the show. The Jacob sheep section was unbelievable with 8-10 entries per class, they even had their own show ring.

Mr & Mrs Lugger of Modbury won the champion fleece competition for the 2nd year running collecting a Voucher from JR Searle & Son of Buckfastleigh.
J A Darke LTD won the Interbreed Championship with their Devon & Cornwall longwool. The Young Handler classes were well supported and Judged by Mrs Willcox, R & D Machinery Venton, Totnes supplied all the prizes, many thanks to them. The Shearing was a great hit again this year, Many Thanks to Dave Camp and Robert Steer for all their help and commentary.

Mrs Fiona West and her spinning wheel in the Fleece Wool Tent, were a great hit in the afternoon even in the soaring heat Fiona kept spinning.

Thank you to all the exhibitors who took part in this years show and look forward to updating you through the year with some new classes and exhibits, within the Sheep Section, Watch this space.....
